Categories and Qualifying Organizations and Residents.

Categories are used to identify basic rental fees, custodial and security guard fees are additional. A refundable security deposit may be required for use of certain facilities

CATEGORY 1 - Organizations And Groups Sponsored By Or Closely Affiliated With The Romulus Community Schools.

1. Parent-teacher groups, school clubs, scouting organizations, school advisory committees, and employee organizations

2. Elections held in the city of Romulus.

3. School-sponsored continuing education classes. (Community Ed., Adult Ed.)

4. Business/education partnerships that benefit the children of the school district

CATEGORY 2 - Community Organizations and Groups Which Meet In the Public Interest and Do Not Charge Admission

1. Character building organizations that operate for the wellness and entertainment of children in the community with at least 75% of participants being Romulus residents otherwise defaults to Category 3

2. Recreation program sponsored by the city of Romulus

3. Custodial or maintenance charges will be applicable

CATEGORY 3 - Community Organizations and Groups Which Meet For Special Interest Or Charge Admission

1. Religious organizations located in the community

2. Associations, groups, and clubs located in the community

3. Fund-raising activities conducted by community organizations for recreation programs fee charged by the city of Romulus

4. Service clubs for community projects

CATEGORY 4 - Organizations not located in the community

1. Groups and churches located outside of Romulus

2. Commercial ventures

3. Fund-raising activities not connected to the school

Fees and charges:

1. Except for groups and categories one and two as defined in the qualifying organization section, Basic Charges will be charged to all organizations and residents.

2. Custodial fees and Security fees will be charged at the present contractual hourly rate. Saturday hours will be charged at time and a half, and Sunday at double time.

3. In some instances, the School District may require that Security be hired for the management of the crowd and security of the building. The district will hire Security and that charge will be added to the invoice of the organization or resident.

4. Auditorium rental includes PA w/one Microphone, Basic lighting, and Podium.

In addition: Overtime will be charged past the custodian/ maintenance regularly scheduled weekly hours and Saturdays, . The rates for overtime are as follows: Time and one-half – Maintenance coverage for stadium and fields $60 / Custodian coverage $40 for gyms and buildings; Double time on Sundays and Holidays; Maintenance $80/ Custodian $60
